Thank you for any explanations. I just doubt *internal* hard drives would jack the price up by $100 when they can get a decent sized one for $10 or less. I know it's cheaper for the company overall in any case.

The PS3 sold at a big loss due to other internal parts like the blue-ray player....Stuff that's actually new (at the time) and expensive. I know the space isn't "needed" but I'd need to spend extra money anyways on a system that's already $300 if (and I will) ever run out.
