Why are the wii u sales so low in the US?

3 reasons Wii U sales are slow:

bad marketing
no killer app
slow economy

It's obvious to why the Wii U isn't selling well. Looking at the overall sales pictures from NPD, everything tanked; console sales dropped 17% and software dropped 19%. Such a decline would be most felt by the Wii U since it has no earlier sales criteria upon which to be based, so all they're doing is basing it on a console that went on sale 6 years ago during different economic times and at a lower price.

The real bottom line ... people are scared about the economy again. Gas prices are going up and their take-home pay is going down. Something's gotta give, and it's gonna be discretionary income, which is what one uses to buy a gaming console.

Yea? Why is there no hype for this console unlike the over whelming demand for the original wii?

Because:
It has very few games currently and very few even announced.
It has no must have games.
It has the worst 3rd party support of any current day console.
It has a very poor online service.
It has a clunky bulky controller that has to be charged every 4 or so hours.
Games that are multiplatform run worse on it than the other consoles out.
Games are announced then cancelled or delayed regularly.
The list goes on...

1. Wrong.
2. Wrong.
3. It just came out recently. Of course it isn't going to have the same amount of games as the others.
4. Wrong.
5. Where's the problem?
6. Because they were ported from 360 to hardware that is built differently.
7. Just like any other day in this industry.
8. The list of lies? Certainly.
9. You have failed.
10. The end.

You will be very busy Wednesday.

The fact that nintendo will come out with a new one thats smaller next year that will also not sell well.

Because the vast majority of Wii U's lineup is already available on PS3 and 360, with identical (or better) graphics and vastly superior online.

The only market for Wii U right now consists of people who think it's worth shelling out over $400 just to play NSMBU and Nintendoland.

they have the PC version of Darksiders 2 running on WiiU in 1080 native at 60 fps and full graphics options on. Neither 360 or PS3 can come close
