As a former fan, yawn. I think I'm tired of this series after playing AC3, it's too story driven and everything feels like a chore.
Kill these group of enemies, cutscene, kill this other group of enemies, cutscene, follow this person without alerting him, cutscene, assassinate this person, cutscene, fight this group of enemies.

The ship battles were pretty fun though.

I'm a huge Nintendo fan, and even I'm dumbfounded at how the NDF of this board can just sit here and call AC a crap franchise...

I agree the current setting really bored me, Desmond is just not likable.

And no more Ezio but no more Connor either

Yeah.
And is it just me or did the character models of the present day characters look uglier than they did in AC2?

Have you completely forgotten about this fish?

They really need to slow the hell down with these games.

I'll probably just wait for the next collection/trilogy with 3 and whatever else they release in this timeline.

Then again, my favorite series is Pokemon and I buy every game at launch, so I can't really talk. :P

Personally, I'm super excited. AC3 was my first AC game, and I REALLY loved it. It had flaws, sure. A lot of them were glaringly obvious. But Connor was cool, albeit a little bland, the Naval missions rocked, the story was great, the setting was awesome, the graphics were amazing, and walking through Boston pwning every Redcoat you pass just never gets old.

You pretty much summed up the pattern of 90% of games today.

Next main character better be more like Ezio.
Coonor just plain sucked.

And I wish they'd ditch the parts that take place in the present and the Animus.
I don't care about those things and I think most people don't care about them either.

I think it should just be Ezio with a pirate suit on.
They can look different, but Ezio was THE man. We had one game to get to know Connor, and it wasn't very good.
AC2 rocked hardcore, Brotherhood is a great expansion, as is Revs. So we got three games made so we could grow accustomed to Ezio, and only one game for Connor. It would have been great had there been some sort of build up to Connor.

I hope it has something to do with pirates.
Personally, I would like an AC game that either takes place during feudal era Japan (Assassin's vs. the evil Takeda forces FTW), or hell, even one set in WWI era Chicago (of course you would get a gun, but your character would be useless with them. So the game would go back to what it was about since the beginning: stabbing blokes. And Chicago had plenty of tall buildings back then.)

this ass creed will just be a repainted copy of the other 7 ass games.

Except that AC1 and 2 are almost NOTHING alike.

The similarities they share, the same similarities Metal Gear, and MGS3 share. A similar name, the same series. And that's it. The gameplay is entirely overhauled. More focus on combat than faffing about.
ACBH and Revs were great if you think of them as DLC. If they were digital expansions, people would be singing praise for them.

Also, AC2 is the single best game of last gen.

Yeah I must be in the minority because after having played all the AC games except for Liberation, and I mean ALL of them, AC3 was my favorite, with Rev being a close second. I never really had that many glitches or things happen in the game to me so I don't have negative opinions there. Also, I liked Connor a lot more than Ezio. To me Connor's character was much more complex. Ezio was motivated by revenge, then gets hooked to the cause. Connor, on the other hand, seeks to stop his father/, who used to be an Assassin, and also help to win the revolution. In addition, the game makes the Templar/Assassin relationship much less black and white and more morally ambiguous. In AC2/ACB/ACR, the Templar were bad and the Assassins good. But AC3 had the Templars against the Assassins, but ultimately having the same end goal, just through different and questionable means. So in my opinion, AC3 was much better than the other games.
