So the PS4 is actually just a more powerful Wii U

Also looks like it will be more expensive, especially if you want to make it more like a Wii U by streaming to the Vita. Which is still a good bit slower than Wii U - Gamepad streaming. All the social connectivity? Wii U also has a ton of social connectivity.

Yeah, I guess PS4 does out-edge the Wii U in terms of how much you can do with the streaming and the social connectivity (so far, at least), but in order to get that you will also be paying a higher price tag. Gameplay-wise, PS4 doesn't seem to bring anything new to the table that the Wii U can't do.

So basically, Nintendo has nothing to worry about from Sony's side. Oh well, maybe Microsoft will bring some new innovation to the market and will actually make that Kinect 2.0 worth something for gaming. At least they should figure out a proper way to integrate it, rather than throw casual garbage at us. Such horrible use of such a brilliant tool.

You would have been the last one to convince that the world was spherical while you are still sitting on your property laughing at the adventurers about to go over the end of the earth.

I remember when the SNES was just a more powerful Genesis. Not saying that power sets the outcome, but it has.

I always felt that the hardware that has the most third party support has always succeeded the most. That is why I like the approach Sony has taken making the PS4.

But if they announce some ridiculous price it won't matter all that much with MS offering at least the same amount of support I think.

Nintendo was just more popular than Sega. The SNES 'winning' had nothing to do with it being more powerful. And the SNES wasn't the most powerful console of that generation anyway. Also, I wrote 'winning', because the SNES and Genesis/Megadrive were pretty much equal in sales by the time the next generation started. The SNES didn't win until after Sega launched the Saturn (although people were losing faith in them before that from the numerous gimmicky upgrade).
