Wii U

I was blown away by Sony PS4 conference. Super duper hyped for PS4. Just pre-ordered PS4 last night also.

The WiiU is a nice gaming console. Im not a fan of Big N games but I know a lot of people love Nintendo first party games. All over this board, PS3 board, and 360 board I see a ton of "WiiU is not next gen'' or "PS3/360 is more powerful then WiiU".
It not fair compare WiiU to other consoles. Compare the WiiU to the Wii. The WiiU is a beast compared to the Wii. Nintendo needs 3rd party support and no crappy ports. I think 3rd party devs are kinda afraid of tablet controller. The Wii U pro controller is what the 3rd party devs should be using and let Nintendo 1st party devs worry about the tablet. The Wii Classic cotroller pro and Wii U pro controllers are solid game pads.

Yes those workstation powered proof of concept set pieces are very impressive- I'd like to see actual gameplay that can match it now.

I meant in general- art direction has a lot to do with the first impression and I DEFINITELY know where you're coming from with Shenmue and Shenmue II as the sense of wonder it instilled in people at the time was amazing.

TBH, I didn't find it any more impressive than running Metro 2033 on higher settings. Maybe I'm missing something because everyone keeps linking tiny, fuzzy, ugly animated gifs, but, while impressive compared to other PS4 demos, it's not really as amazing as seeing Shenmue II, or Star Fox Adventure for the first time.

Yeah the PS2 was a failure. Oh wait no it wasn't. The PS3s problem was that it was late to the party and was awkward for developers. 2 things that won't happen with the PS4.

The ps2 was not more powerful than the competitors. It was actually quite weak.
