Nightmare Before Christmas is definitely cartoony looking to me, and that movie has plenty of gray, black, and brown.

Being uhhhh... Cartoony in design? I don't get how this is even a difficult question..

When people criticize Nintendo games for being "cartoony", they just lack the balls to say what they really mean: Kiddy.

"Cartoony" art can be used for a variety of things. Jet Set Radio is aimed at the youth, teenagers and twens, Killer7 is aimed at adults, Skyward Sword is aimed at everyone and Wind Waker looks like it's aimed at kids from 5-10.

NBC is not a good example since it's extremely artistic even for cartoon standards.

By gray and brown I mean games or animation meant to look realistic or movie-like.
