Is it normal for download speeds to be this slow?

Just got my Wii U yesterday and I downloaded the Monster Hunter demo. A little slower than I am used to but fine.

Then I downloaded the ZombiU demo....it said ETA 8 hours @_@

So I cut off my system and I resumed today and it seems about 90% done but it still says a whole hour and a half to download so what is the big deal is it normally this slow?

Not encountered any 8 hour downloads but eShop downloads do take longer for me compared to the other stores.

Same here. However, about 3 weeks ago when I was downloading Nano Assault Neo (82MB DL), it took 30 minutes. Might simply be where it's coming from, as I'm sure they've got multiple servers holding the digital stuff.
