More than 50% of Gfaqs things Nintendo might become software only...

Even if the majority thinks only for consoles...

But seriously, that's major fail. It just shows the majority of users on this site has no idea about what makes a company run & survive. Unlike Sony & MS, Nintendo doesn't need to sell 50+ million to make a profit -__-

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

Not really. You have to count the top 2 Qs against the bottom 2. The middle one is a MAYBE, and home console only, so not 'software only'.

What will probably happen next gen, is Nintendo makes a handheld that can also be played on the TV. It would be a home console and portable in one device.

But it's true. How many PS3 and 360's had to be sold before either of them started profiting? On hardware I mean.

The core problem is and will always be "Are they making a profit on the games console?" Nintendo have done this with nearly every console from the get go iirc, hence the GameCube's 20 Million systems and the lack of support didn't matter as much as it could have.

However, other systems have managed despite this as they sell a lot of games, get a lot of publishers and developers on board and perhaps eventually profit on the system AND on games. Nowadays with PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live and other online systems in general, it should be easier methinks to stay afloat especially if you have a couple or more good generations behind you. SEGA wasn't so lucky.

I don't see any of them becoming software only... >_>

PC GAMERS HAD TO BE THE MOST INSECURE GROUP OF GAMERS

This will never happen. Nintendo has already said on more than one occasion that they would shut down before going third party.

Taking a GameFAQs poll seriously is like going to a Tea Party page and taking them seriously. You're getting brainwashed into something stupid.
