It depends how Ubisoft defines next gen, As obviously the Wii U is next gen from a release standpoint but that doesn't mean that it is from a hardware standpoint.

It will be interesting to see how it turns out regardless

This. There isn't any sort of confirmation that development for the Wii U has started.

Other than the fact Ubisoft has blatantly said that they have the game running on the Wii U.

So much for the idea that Wii U couldn't get PS4 or NextBox games.

Link to Ubi saying they have the Wii U version up and running?

Just to have it in the topic.

But I thought the Wii U version was a 360 port...

No.

But that's what everyone has been telling me...!

Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

The likely hood of these games coming to the 360/PS3 are almost zero.

Let's see. Montreal is working on the PC version. Bukarest (SP?) is working on the PS4/Wii U ports.

When these are DONE, then they will work on the 360/PS3 version. But why haven't they just moved these to another studio? Two reasons:

A) The 360/PS3 version will be a downport of the Wii U version when it's done (easier to do).

or

B) They'll can the ports all together.

Not to mention there's going to be a 720 port down the line? I don't think the 360/PS3 version are 100% confirmed in their mind.

Regardless. It's going to be a hack job. They already said PC/PS4/720/Wii U is now their focus.

Well, Ubisoft has already said they have Watch Dogs up and running on Wii U hardware already. That would kinda point to it NOT being the same as PS3/360 seeing as development hasnt even started on those versions yet

Where did they say that? All they said was it was confirm for the Wii U.

Well, that kinda puts things into focus in terms of the power of the PS4 and NextBox, doesn't it?
