If you want a survival horror that is actually a survival horror. Get ZombiU. Simple as that. It is un-apologetically that. As you play further, there's a tiny bit of rogue-like influence to the game with certain aspects of death and randomized item locations. But it is more survival horror, in the purest sense, then a lot of games that came out in the same overall genre these past few or so years. --- "because 'Clerks' is NINJA in itself." - Ninja Mask lessons by Vern Reid (http://houseofninja.com/tutorial.php)
I love survival horror. What's keeping me from buying this is the lack of story, and no gamepad only play.
I'm 32, with a 3 year old, a wife, and one tv. When kid goes to sleep, I'm usually playing on gamepad while the mrs. Watches tv. When she goes to bed I get tv. --- Mythlogic-Pollux 1612, Clevo P150em, i7-3720QM, 2GB GTX 680m, 16g DDR3, 128 MSata drive, 750 7200rpm HDD PowerFAQs 1.10
If you were to ask me, buy. There are obvious flaws like limited melee animations, lack of other melee weapons so using mostly the bat becomes repetitive, and pretty lackluster graphics but this game overall is pretty fun, makes the most of the gamepad, and is probably the most pure survival-horror game to come out in awhile. --- (NNID/PSN): EnVy_CaLiBeR (GT): EnVyXCaLIBeR (3DS): 2895-6776-7223 Pokemon Black 2 FC: 0519-6722-9989 Ravens! 2012-2013 Superbowl Champions!
