pengiewinPosted 2/28/2013 5:24:24 PM | I want to use surround sound on my wiiu but it doesn't seem to work. I have a home theatre system with only an hdmi out on the back no hdmi in and I heard that I need an lpcm reciever to get surround sound on the wiiu and my system says lpcm on the screen when I play my wiiu so should I be able to get surround sound? Also my theatre system is a Sony bdv-e300 --- Sent from my iPhone via PowerFAQs 1.10 |
SagadegoPosted 2/28/2013 5:25:33 PM | you have the system set to surround, correct? --- Netflix has a rental service, but it isn't a rental service. - Demondog666 |
Faceman_Posted 2/28/2013 5:29:09 PM | I've got surround sound and a receiver, but I couldn't hear some things from games when my Wii U was set to surround. I couldn't hear screaming or gunshots on ZombiU so I had to change it back. |
TheTrueNubPosted 2/28/2013 5:31:04 PM | You need an HDMI in and out to get surround sound on the Wii U.
The Wii U supports no licensed audio codecs, and therefore only does Linear PCM 5.1. Only HDMI has the bandwidth for this, hence no optical audio output in the Wii U. --- Keep calm and hee-ho http://i.imgur.com/8JzkT.png |
