Off-TV play is the whole point of the Wii U. If developers use the GamePad for gameplay features over off-TV play, that gives consumers no reason to buy the Wii U version.
Off TV play is NOT the whole point of the Wii-U.
Its just a selling point.
Also most multiplats use offtv play anyway. The ones that dont are exclusive, which pretty much invalidates your last sentence. I think Enigma was joking. I mean, I hope they where... shaunme posted...>

So to wrap this topic up, what is the current opinion on off screen play from the NDF/drones who come here?
Before launch the feature was a system seller, a killer app,then at launch the feature was used as a reason to pick a multiformat game like mass effect 3,darksiders 2 and assasins creed 3 on the Wii U over the 360/ps3 versions.Now that some games are getting released without the feature,it is being called unremarkable and not a useful feature,but looking down and seeing a map or an inventory is groundbreaking when i could just press start and see it??
I posted a topic last week expressing my disappointed in monster hunter not supporting off tv play and the same drones posted that it didn't matter and that the inventory was integral to the gameplay,a day later capcom announced it would feature off screen play via a patch,topics appeared praising capcom for this and saying how good that feature is

Tl,Dr= drones have double standards. You are actually rewriting history. Nobody was really talking about off-tv play until review units were out and websites started talking about their experiences with off-tv play. Nintendo mentioned it, but it was the media that called it the "killer app". For Nintendo, it was just one more feature in a system with a long line of features. That UK ad certainly wasn't entirely about it nor were the US ads. Seriously, this was like 5 months ago. You might need to partake in some Brain Training exercises. |
