Why should developers care about the Wii U with the PS4 coming this year?

Sorry but Nintendo doesnt care about the developers actually making games for the Wii U. For the last two or three years developers have been confined with current gen hardware and started hitting the limits of what was possible on these machines. It was a nuisance and the demand for *much* more powerful hardware was very apparent, hence why lots of developers got a jump start working on next gen tech and have had PS4 devkits for a while. What does Nintendo do though? They make the Wii U, which is hardly any stronger than PS3/360 and developers have already ran into problems bringing their current gen games to it with it's slow CPU.

Sony actually went to every developer and asked what they wanted from the PS4, what they wanted it to be, and several of their first party studios actually helped design it. It's clear that they care about developers way more than Nintendo does, the PS4 is actually a love letter to the gaming industry with it's power and ease of use giving developers no limits in what they can make.

So why should developers care about the Wii U? It's a limited platform where the bulk of it's audience only cares about the Nintendo first party games either way. Honestly Nintendo shouldnt have made the Wii U with so much going against it.

A little early to call the PS4 successful, yes?

I do think, overall, developers don't have much enthusiasm for the WiiU. I don't agree that it shouldn't have gotten made though, I just wish Nintendo had been more prepared. They will lose any edge they had come holiday season

True this. We do not even have a price yet and they have not even dropped the fact everyone is paying for PSN next gen.

Tell me again why Drive Club wasn't possible before PS4, because the guy on stage at the Sony show didn't really do a good job of doing that.

Wow that sucks.....but I guess when you look at the huge list of developers, the hardware, and the idea for subscriptions they couldn't possibly make it free. No wonder they kept their mouths shut in regards to pricing

Usually when somebody has to say, "Read between the lines" you can tell that no, it is in fact no true. In the future, I'd suggest posting a source that actually says what you are saying and is not a third party that is just giving their views on the subject.

Because they want to make money?

Also, the main limitation of those consoles was the RAM, and Wii U has significantly more RAM than they do.
