Stop blaming EA for not supporting the Wii U. Nintendo screwed Nintendo.

Nintendo has another thing coming if they think they can just bring out hardware with bad specs, a gimmick, and a mediocre online platform and expect it to sell because their name is on the box.

EA is only protecting their business. Games like Madden, Crysis, Dead Space, and Battlefield aren't going to sell on the Wii U at this juncture. Heck, Call of Duty barely managed 100k+. That's pathetic. No wonder Activision has been saying "Nintendo fans are all talk".

The Wii was an anomaly. Nintendo got lucky that the waggle motion control gained popularity for a couple of years. It was a fad that they were able to capitalize on. The Wii U has been an utter failure in comparison. No one is impressed with the tablet controller and the game lineup is abysmal. When your business model is to do as little as possible and pray that your gimmick of choice catches fire, you're doing it wrong. Nintendo take notice.

Now imagine if Nintendo did allow EA to handle their online distribution with Origin. Giving EA that kind of control would have led to more EA titles, but fewer titles from other 3rd-party vendors because EA wants to promote themselves, not everyone else. It's a power grab, and Nintendo wasn't about to let a 3rd-party company take control of an important aspect of their infrastructure. Nintendo made the right choice, even if it resulted in EA lowering their support for the Wii U.

EA has made some extremely stupid marketing decisions recently. They've had interest in raising game prices, and even though 2K's contract with MLBPA is over, they have yet to revive the MVP Baseball series.

I'm definitely going to blame EA for rejecting the Wii U as well.
