Metroid has been getting some rather consistent attention since it's revival with the Prime series. More than any of the other series listed in the poll, at least.

There's a big 4?

Also Starfox could have been the 4th....I cannot understand how you make such an awesome game like Starfox 64 and then don't follow it up. I played sooo much Starfox 64 back in the day.

But we get #$%^ Prince Tricky killing all the interest I had in the series.

I've gotta say Starfox. The potential is huge and the space-combat genre is aching for more entries but Nintendo is content to just let the IP either collect dust or make bizarre design choices with the last several games.

Donkey Kong is Nintendo's Fourth Best Selling Franchise, not Metroid.

both dk and kirby kick metroid's ass sales-wise and get far more attention

smash bros too if you want to include that in this discussion

if anything though it's just the "big 3" with mario/pokemon/zelda

but at any rate fire emblem is the only series with enough longevity and quality to be "deserving" of as much attention as the big 3

Legend of Zelda has only a fraction of the sales Mario and Pokemon enjoy. Metroid gets only a fraction of what Zelda gets in terms of sales.

If anything Nintendo has a big a 2 1/2. The two are Mario and Pokemon and 1/2 is Zelda. Compared to the others, Metroid has a much smaller number of less popular games.
