Directly from your Wii U browser you can play HTML 5 games. Just Google "free HTML5 games" and you will find lots of free games to play. Not all will work correctly dropping audio and having poor frame rates.

You can't play Flash games on the Wii U (nor, for that matter, any other mobile device), though HTML 5 games will work, and most websites are converting over to HTML 5. That said, I think you have to use the touchscreen, although I'm not entirely sure on that last point.

Thanks man, are there any html5 games you suggest?

I'm just looking to test out the capabilities of the gamepad outside of the traditional use.

I read a while back that someone made a solitare game online. It works with the gamepad and everything. Google Wii U solitare and it should work

Google "legend of sadness html5"

It's a Legend of Zelda copy. Can be played on the Gamepad. You only use the "A" button and "R" shoulder button ( not the ZR trigger ). Analog stick or d-pad. There is no sound though.

I started to play it but 10 seconds in I kept getting pop-ups until they completely redirected me away from the page.

It did work though, I just never got a chance to find out what R does. I used the dpad to move and A to swing my sword.

Any of the Akihabara games work well (like Legend of Sadness - I had no popup issues from his website). He mapped controls to A, R and the + buttons. I don't know why the +, but whatever.

http://www.kesiev.com/akihabara/

They run much smoother on the Wii U than most other web based games I have tried.

Now if only somebody can reprogram this site to work fully with Wii U controls:

Then we'd be golden.

No sound on anything though. That is currently a huge downside to the Wii U browser, but something that can eventually be upgraded (and considering the browser is already great, I would be shocked if they don't continue updating it).
......also, shameless plug for my Wii U application: www.somegamesimade.com - sorry for everybody who has seen me post it a few times.
