P_A_N_D_A_M_A_NPosted 3/11/2013 2:19:10 AM | A slip up from Activision’s website department revealed a new Crash Bandicoot will be heading to Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation.
According to website Gaming Enthusiat, a countdown timer appeared on the Crash Bandicoot website along with an image declaring that “he’s back”.
Wii U and Xbox 360 logos appeared alongside the PlayStation logo which suggests the game might be a download-only title, or will be released on PlayStation 3, 4 and Vita.
A keen user snapped an off-screen photo, which you can view below.
Crash Bandicoot is a franchise that started as a platformer back in 1996 by Uncharted developer, Naughty Dog. Since then, 12 games have been released in the series including Crash Team Racing. For a time, the title was exclusive to PlayStation consoles, but since went multiplatform following the expiration of the three-title exclusivity deal the publisher had with Sony.
In 2012, a game titled “Unlimited Crash Bandicoot” appeared in some listings, but was later cancelled for undisclosed reasons. Might it had just been deferred to a later date, or will this title be something completely new?
That mystery is yet to be solved. The last game to release in the Crash Bandicoot series was Crash Bandicoot: Nitro Kart Racing 2 on iPhone. The last console title was Crash: Mind over Mutant which saw a release on PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS in 2008.
Other cancelled games included Crash Team Racing 2010 and Crash Landed, both in 2010 by various developers.
At this point, the Crash Bandicoot website has crashed (ironically enough), so verifying this report is a little tricky. We’ll have updates as they come to hand.

A user on video game forum NeoGaf claims the image is a fake, thanks to an image of a plank of wood he was able to find on Google Image Search which matches that used on the photo.
