I find it funny how everyone talks about record breaking low, when there have been multiple consoles in the past that sold a lot worse.

That's what I've been saying for months. But somehow releasing in a worse economy and selling better is bad now lol.

Yes blame the economy for everything! Apple can release a new iPad tomorrow and it would outsell the Wii U total sales in less than a week. It's not about the economy here.

It is weird. I just saw on the news that people spend more money than ever on weddings. Yet people are struggling to get bills paid. People either do not understand priorities at all or perhaps the figures are skewed by the filthy rich having more disposable money than ever.

These are sells to stores, not customers.

LMAO, when it comes to the Vita, shipped to stores=sales, when it;s Nintendo, "it doesn't count! Shipped1!11!11!!"

I'm the same way with all numbers. Typically people post shipped numbers for sony as well.

Oh I see. So people are saying its failing because it hasn't been selling well for a couple of weeks?

There hasn't been good sales numbers because there is not much coming out right now. However there are quite a few titles coming out this march for the Wii U so that should help the sales a bit.

I know you kids are way to young to remember, or have even played, the ps1. It took ONE WHOLE YEAR to sell one million. Three million in three months is great especially when nothing has came out since launch really.

The Market is a completely different animal than it was in the 90s. Maybe your too old to understand that.

Yep. Nintendo has changed gaming several times since the PS1...

Yup.

Mass encouragement of shovelware
Wand controllers that need extra parts to work right
Bringing back extinct dinosaur resistive screens
Releasing consoles that are on parity with 6 year old designs
Going from 3D Mario to 2D Mario.

Bravo Nintendo.

Actually, no, they're sales to customers.

The PS3 sold about 5 million units to stores by the end of its first 3 months, and by the end of March, had reached 5.5 million, despite only selling 3 million units.

Ironically, this shows that the PS3 was pretty much in the exact same position as the Wii U is now...though then again, that did get a price drop fairly early (I think in June...but don't hold me to that).

Ummm.... I'm pretty sure PS3 sold a little less than 2 mill during the first 3 months it was released.

Don't believe it.
WiiU did not sell to 3 million customers, yet. It will, however. I actually expect them to ship more WiiUs in a month or so, which means you all can post misinterpreted numbers all over again. Congratulations, that the cycle will continue.

And my main points being, It's not even the end of March yet. That last link means nothing because I can see Sony shipping more in March, near the end, in fact.

Despite me bashing your sources or how you read the source, I see a bright future for the WiiU. I am just striving to be realistic.

Hell, I see PS3 stealing this gen if all the announced games actually come out for a change.
