The iconic status of a system can be measured by not only sales; but also cultural impact, impact on the gaming industry, and reputation. Also take into account the level of critical acclaim each console and its library received, as well as the system you think will be most memorable years from now. So taking all of these things into consideration, which of these systems do you think is the most iconic?

None. Seriously, most of what came out in the 7th gen I would be surprised if it were remembered as fondly as some of us older gamers remember NES and SNES games.

I don't understand how you can even ask this question. Zeebo obviously.

PS3. for one simple reason.

When a lot of people (not gamers) talk about consoles and games, they use the word 'Playstation' as a generic term lots of the time, even the news channels do it.

That's because of PS1 and PS2 though. They were doing that long before PS3 even came out.

PS3 is actually the least iconic home video game console this gen. Early on, Wii and 360 were both handily kicking its ass. When you saw video games on TV or in movies as just something there a character was playing or was given as a gift, it was always a Wii or a 360. If they ever even had a Playstation, it was a PS2, not a PS3.
