Is it just me or is the Wii U not selling...

#1DesperateMonkeyPosted 3/11/2013 6:40:37 PM
because of their terrible and barely existent ad campaign?

People talk about games but I think that has very little to do with it. It has "enough" games but how are all the average people going to be excited and thinking about it without the advertisements?

Seriously, I have GAMING friends that didnt even really know what the Wii U was, let alone casuals.

Its just you. Most topics are talking about inherent flaws of the Wii U and so you came in and played your fanboy reflex.

I have to agree the complete lack of an ad campaign hasn't helped out the Wii U's situation.

That being said it has more going against it than a poor ad campaign.

Does it? The Wii didn't launch with anything decent, neither did the PS3. The 360 had no real heavy hitters either.

In fact, Wii U has more going for it because it launched cheaper than those consoles.

The ad campaign is definitely not helping things, it's long been a problem NoA has seemingly never bothered to address.

There are plenty of other reasons beyond the ad campaign as to why it isn't selling, such as:
- performance issues
- lack of games
- region lock
- lack of dvd/bluray
- lack of worthwhile gimmick to bring in the Wii casuals

I've said it before and here it is again......the ad campaign is fine. I see commercials all the time, there are countless magazine ads, most gaming stores( or gaming related big box stores) have either in-store materials towards promotion or online ads. Plus demo kiosks, and it's not like the games and system themselves are off in a corner away from the other games.

The only people who don't know what it is are the people who are not interested in it, therefore don't realize it's a new thing. I remember my dad asking why I had to get a whole new machine to play Mario64 when my SNES worked perfectly fine. Any gamer ( who's not a casual, i.e. CoD or Madden only player) that has any interest in Nintendo will know what this is. The common consumer will do research on something that interests them.

This is just a troll reassurance topic...Not calling TC a troll, but the subject itself is ludicrous unless you've shut yourself off from the main world completely.
