do you think a price drop will save the wii U?

The fact that Vita is now selling well just proves that no matter how bad a system's launch looks, it'll eventually pull out of it.

How anyone could now expect Wii U to fail is beyond me.

all signs are pointing to it, gamecube got an amazing launch as well, but dropped down steeply, it got way more games than the wii U and it didnt do well, it got a ton of mario and zelda and that didnt help. problem is, it's pretty dead in EU and doing mild in US, the 2 biggest console adopters in the world.

$50 price drop would be good, alongside the release of their 1st party games. The media painted Wii U as 360 level tech so they need to price it accordingly.

The "No price drop needed, just games" was the mantra of Sony last gen and it turns out a price drop was needed. Just games did not help the N64 or Gamecube sell particularly well. Nintendo needs a price drop, and they know it. Expect one before the year ends.

The young.

The fanboy.

The ignorant.

That's how they see the Wii U will fail (just like the PS3 failed and the Wii and the Vita and the so on and so forth).

TC for example is all 3 (evidence shown through the topics/posts they make here and on the Sony boards).

To humor your naivety TC no amount of price dropping will save any system, if they do not have any (or just a few) games...

No price drop is needed just games

This should be obvious enough.

Just like the PS3 and the Vita, it took games to sell the systems (wel

They have to save a price drop for ps4 release. When people see the games and features at a display next to each other way more people will choose the one with better value. In this tough economic landscape consumers are being forced to learn to value of a dollar.

i should add that the gamecube got a price drop to 99$ more than a year since launch, and we know how that goes.

Lets assume ps4 will be higher priced, which realistically it will. At the holiday time when ps4 most likely will be coming out Wii u will have a lot of great games out so it wont be as tough as you think. If a parent with a few kids sees the wii u with Mario Kart for say 350 and the PS4 with some fps for $400-450 which do you think would be more appealing? Not for you but the average consumer who isnt a graphics whore and is buying it as a present for their kids. The so called "hardcore" gamers are not the majority and nintendo knows to focus on everyone.

We don't know PS4 price. That's integral.

Thats why i put it at an assumption, but realistically it wont be less the $400. We also dont know what the ps4 launch lineup will look like could have only one or 2 good games
