No, Nintendo does care about their fans, and that's why they don't force this kind of awful, slow, bloated interface between us and our games. You know what's great about Wii and Wii U's GUI? I can use the Wii Remote or Touch Screen to just instantly select the thing I want without scrolling through a bunch of crap. Why would I want to go to an interface like the awful one in the video that removes that convenience? And feeling like you own the game? That doesn't do a damn thing towards making me feel like I own the game. Oh wow, I can read a promotional blurb but not the box because it's too small. I can't take the game out and look at the manual either. I can just slowly scroll around the shelves while it makes annoying sound effects. It makes me feel like I've died and gone to hell, not like I own anything.
