I personally like the way the series is but a big reboot with a new style for Link, voice acting, open world, and non linear dungeon order sounds really cool too.

I'm aware that the games have differences and they are somewhat rebooted with each entry, I'm asking if you guys think there needs to be a massive reboot.

I'm fine with Zelda as it is. It's one franchise I don't want to see trying to do something different for the sake of doing something different. Some games work well if they follow a formula, and Legend of Zelda is one of those games.

i really believe zelda needs some new blood.

its very hard for me to become interested in a zelda game these days, and i have been playing them all since the 80's.

every zelda game is more or less the same beat for beat.

what zelda needs, is what platinum games did for metalgear... a completely different style of gameplay almost.

i really would be interested if they made zelda into a survival horror type game, with limited inventory, claustrophobic environments, less focus on combat with more emphasis on enemy evasion or only fighting when you have to...

the zelda games have had moody moments that were kinda creepy before (majoras masks, anything with redeads) just like how metal gear has had moments when it went totally outrageous before.(twin snakes, cyber raiden in mgs4)

i dont think the shift to survival horror would trully affect the core zelda experience in a negative way either (ie- you still collect plot coupons) but in the context of a survival horror setting they take on new meanings. but it sure as hell would refresh a series that has become quite frankly, moldy.

Skyward Sword is the best Zelda yet, why would we need a reboot?

The only dev I would trust to reboot Zelda is Retro. If they were doing it, then I say have fun with it.
