if the sales of the zelda games have been declining, you can expect them to mix it up soon.

Yeah, Skyward Sword only sold like 3-4 million.

With an install base of 100 million, that is f****ing awful.

Even The Wind Waker sold more.

I think what killed SS compared to other Zelda games was requiring an ad-on. You had to have motion+. Maybe it would have done better if all copies of the game came with a motion+ attachment, instead of just the initial run of the limited edition copies.

The Zelda series is like a dying animal. Put it out of its misery and let it die. People want Mario, not fairy boy Link.

I'm thinking drop the "Legend of" ... "Call of Zelda", anyone?

Yeah, it needs a reboot like Tomb Raider. They should make it more linear and grimdark. Link should be a real person who is terrified and just trying to survive. His boobs should be smeared in dirt and grime.

I think they should take away the puzzles and platforming, and add more cover-based shooting, and there should be a lot of cinematic sequences where the only actual game play is pressing buttons in time with the on-screen prompts. Maybe there should be an implied rape scene too, in order to show people that videogames are for grownups now.

They should take some stuff from Dark Souls, seeing as Dark Souls is pretty much what the series would be if they used LoZ as a template instead of LttP.

Polite conversation should never include Politics, Religion or what constitutes an RPG.
Playing a game for it's story is like watching porn for it's story.

Didn't they mention in Nintendo Direct that they plan to make heavy changes in the new Zelda game not the HD remake but the own that's going to be exclusive to Wiiu. For instance He mention doing away with the linear approach to Zelda games something even modern Rpgs are faulty off. Adding in Multilayer and what not. Basically they said they were going to do a reboot gameplay wise. I don't have a direct link to that that particular Nintendo direct though.

Using install base as a measure is stupid. 3 million in sales is great.

No it isn't stupid.

Having only 3% of Wii owners buy a game from one of your most established franchises is pitiful. Zelda isn't a HUGE seller, but it's gets by pretty well in comparison to the install base. This game should've sold 10 million, easy.

Oooo yeah, I think so too.

I picked up the limited edition, fortunately.

Zelda does need a reboot so new younger fans can actually say they have played a zelda game and be proud of it.

Funny because its true:
