Buy 3DS versions anyway, Pokemon is far superior on handhelds.

This I wouldn't see the point in a main Pokemon game split into two games on a console

I'd get them on both purely out of being a massive fanboy who has to have all the Pokemon games, but I'd most likely only play the 3DS versions.

If something comes out on a handheld and a home console, I will usually go for the handheld version. Especially RPGs, and even more so Pokemon.

I've never really enjoyed a console Pokemon the same as a handheld.

I bought Colloseum on the back of Nintendo Powers 94% review and then quickly decided that I would never trust that publication ever again.

If it were done properly I'm all for it, but I'd rather play it on the go.

Back in the gameboy days traditional pokemon games would make no sense being on consoles. It's not like you're going to take your system to a friends house to trade. Now? I'd love X&Y on Wii U. HD, maybe more regions... I'd buy WU/3DS versions in a heartbeat. Especially if you can transfer saves like you can on MH.
