Honestly, I think gaming will go for one more round. Then there's going to be a major shake up. Not so much company wise, as in industry as a whole.

People want their couch and controller, but I think that era is dying soon. Kinect will make a push. Oculus will make tidal waves, earthquakes and tornado's all at once. Interactive gaming will be the norm. Gaming will something people will either hate, or adapt.

I also predict that retro gaming will make a HUGE comeback because of this. Nintendo has been making a kill off of this, and the market is huge.

In short? You think the gaming community is split now because of the graphics war? Next gen is where it will really get bad, and not because of graphics. Retro gamer's VS VR gamer's. Heh

Yes gaming is dying as evident by the ridiculous amount of hardware and software that has sold this generation compared to the last...

I mean let's all go back to the golden times when games were designed to be 30 minutes long but extended in length because of cheap difficulty. That's so much better than micro transactions! Oh I game last more than an hour? Well then we need to charge $100 for the game!

Why do young gamers like the TC pretend they were around for some imaginary golden era that never existed.

Was this topic made to get nods from mindless sheep?

Holy crap. I just read an article about the next Xbox where it's all but confirmed that you will require an always on connection to play your games, and that means no used or borrowing games. What the hell is Microsoft doing? I might actually have to go with Sony this gen. Jesus.

I've never gotten a Sony console. But if this turns out to be true, the PS4 will be my first one. Damn Micro$oft what are you doing.
PS4 doesn't look that impressive to me, but it looks like a miracle compared to that. I mean, seriously, that's one way to screw things up.

Um, no. This is the generation CONSOLE gaming dies.
PC gaming and, unfortunately, tablet and cell phone games will thrive.

I suspect at least one more gen of consoles, actually. They might be a hybrid with portable, but console gaming has more legs than the investors want to admit.

I doubt it. But if they must, Nintendo will save it ...again.

hasnt needed to be saved since the nes days.......god speed

That's his point.

Nintendo took a dead industry and brought it back with a monkey, a carpenter, a skyscraper, and some barrels.

Don't count them out unless they are literally bankrupt.

I hope everyone has a nice back log and good list of games in their inventory.
Wii U has little to no games
Sony is gonna run the ps4 into the ground, sociably of course
Microsoft is making a dedicated media device.

Only Wii U is dying, PS4 is a different beast, Wii U is dying cause it was for casuals, casuals already migrated to iOS and Android and Facebook Gaming Apps.

do the ps4 is gonna smash into the ground, and if thats your definition of casual you must not know that the ps4 is a dedicated facebook device with a share button right on the controller.
ignorant trash
