I do somewhat agree that needing a checklist to show why your newest product is better than its predecessor is kinda odd. The practice is usually reserved for explaining different tiers of paid software (like Windows, anti virus etc). Maybe it'll work.

Well, it seems to be an easy way of saying, "Hey! Our new product is better than our old one! Here's why," which is rather an important thing to have.

Also, I'm fairly certain companies like Apple do this with their products (for example, the iPad has a checklist for each of its hardware revisions).

But yeah - it is rather odd.

If the average consumer is really this uninformed and has no idea that the Wii U is a new console by now. Then apparently things need to be made as simple as possible. Doesn't get more simple than a check list. What's the issue with this ad again?

People still do not know that this is a new console. Seriously. If i mention it to someone like I get responses like "Isnt that a new controller thing for the wii?" or " What the hell is a wii U?"

Nintendo failed at marketing this time round.

Well at least Nintendo finally realized that no one knows what Wii-U is so this is a step in the right direction.

Pretty sad you have to pad a feature list with things such as uses Wii-U controller and accessories though. I'm surprised they didn't say it uses batteries and list that as a feature.

And what's with the dots for the things even the Wii is capable of? Kind of misleading.
