Why do Digital Download games cost as much as the physical retail versions???

#1AwesomeOSaucePosted 3/26/2013 1:02:57 AM
I mean the way I see it:

physical retail version

have to make disc
have to create case + cover
have to print manual and pamphlets
pay for it to be shipped and sold in stores

digital download version

uploaded onto the store server and you pay and just download it.

In my opinion every digital game should be at least a minimum 10-15 bucks less than the retail physical version.

yet I see games for like the same price on the store and in retail stores and I'm just like "why the F*** am I going to spend the same amount on getting something that I can't resell, has no case, instruction manual, physical disc etc."

At least it ain't as bad as on EU PSN where some games costs MORE then retail on release day!

Its because game companies still are dumb about online game distribution and don't understand that they need to cost less.

To encourage you to buy something that you can physically hold, and doesn't take-up your valuable

I get 5 bucks back with the digital promotion. So it cheaper for me. Besides, I buy alot of games and tired of boxes lying around

I often buy physical games at a cheaper price than digital. I wait for sales on games that I'm unsure of. For example: I bought Dead Space 3 on gohastings for $30 just a week after launch.
If Platinum was HAND drawn, she'd be on paper, fool. This is a video game. They just made her on screen, no "drawing" involved -Delano7 on BlazBlue

Because people are happy to pay it /topic closed.
Seriously, why do some people defend ddl, Nintendo, Sony nor Microsoft are never going to offer the deals steam do.
I like to own my games so I buy hardcopy only
Reviews are god. Except when they review something I like poorly. Then all reviews are paid or hating.
