Has an Epic Mickey game been announced or speculated for the Wii U?

Why on earth did they release it for both the Wii and the Wii U?
But why a Wii U and Wii version? That's just dumb.

You know what's "just dumb"? You, for not understanding that there are way more Wii owners than Wii U owners. Disney offered a Wii U version for those who wanted a slightly better graphical presentation.

Clearly the reason the second Epic Mickey was not a commercial success was because they sacrificed quality by making it available for every system. If they had focused on JUST the Wii version (like the first game) it would have been tailor-made for the Wiimote AND it would been playable on both the Wii and the Wii U (because it's backwards compatible).

Sony and Microsoft didn't deserve it. And making slight modifications so it was playable on all systems watered it down, cost too much in advertising and different packaging, and ultimately led to the commercial failure of the game.

I do think even the most bias gaming sites agree with this. If they had just focused on the original audience, I do believe Epic Mickey 2 would have sold more and been better over all.

They tried to do what Ubisoft is doing, but they actually failed at it.

The game was a commercial and financial failure because it sucked, period.

If Platinum was HAND drawn, she'd be on paper, fool. This is a video game. They just made her on screen, no "drawing" involved -Delano7 on BlazBlue

I wouldn't say the game bombed. It's more they wanted to have massive gains early. The same with EA dropping Dead Space after 3.

Unrealistic number counting to justify large project sizes.

Makes me wonder if Disney is going to hurt Lucasarts game division later. They already basically canned that one big game, boasted as next gen.

The first Epic Mickey was a good game. Epic Mickey 2 was much worse. Both games were hyped and underdelivered quite a bit.

To be honest, in this case the Epic Mickey games failed because the developers failed to make them as good as they should have been.
