3rd person Metroid?

#1TulasePosted 3/26/2013 9:06:05 PM
I've been playing Kid Icarus Uprising and wondered if a 3rd person metroid (like the Kid Icarus when on foot) would be good... I think it's a good idea, what do you think?

Wasn't other m third person? I've never played. I want old school 2d metroid. Now and forever.

Other m wasn't 3rd person, but it did have some behind/front camera areas . Mostly it was a 2d metroid with 3d assets.

Other M was third person. The story takes a huge hit for being confusing, to annoying, to downright destroying Samus' character, while I don't agree entirely, the gameplay itself is where I found the game to shine. You can also pick it up for under $10 new so even if you hate the game it wouldn't be much of a loss.

IMO, this is the way the franchise should go. Metroid Blast is definitely the most fun 3D Metroid type experience I've had. They obviously need to expand it a little, so you can jump and use weapons and such, but otherwise it seems like a lock.

Metroid Blast was the most fun I've had with a Metroid game, follow suit.

Ok, I know that Other M is 3rd person, but it's a platformer game.
I mean 3rd person shooter, like Metroid Blast!
A true TPS Metroid for WiiU

A 2-D Metroid would be a great way to return the series to its original roots (we've had enough 3-D Metroid games already). 2-D games tend to be easier to pick up and play and with the off tv tablet this would highlight the advantages of the Wii U. It would also appeal to the mass market like the New Super Mario Bros Series did unlike the Prime games (which were critically acclaimed but did little to significantly expand the base for the gamecube).
