Nintendo should use Bioshock Infinite to learn how to make better games.

Gameplay is what truly matters and FPS gameplay is simply just not fun imo.

Fixed.

The gameplay in all your FPS are all the same.

Wow, console peasants are hilarious. Why do they trivialize what they don't understand? I mean, I bet you think Battlefield and CoD are the same game because they have scopes.

don't peek at the url text and tell me which is which. these mms (modern military shooters) fps, especially, all look the same to me.

they are spamming the video game industry and shooters need to leave

Bioshock Infinite would have been a much granted addition to the Wii U library.

Its very story driven

incredible storytelling

Narrative

ewwwww

that's one really wrong thing about modern games. Emphasis on story over gameplay. So, what good is the story, no matter how good it is, after you beat the game once?

Gameplay is what truly matters and FPS gameplay is simply just not fun.

I bet you would say that Metroid Prime gameplay is great then right?
Sorry but just take off your fanboy goggles and play the damn game, and stop with the pre-mature bashing

Tomb Raider was a much better game than Bioshock Infinite.

Ehh. BI certainly didn't have 10/10 gameplay, and I wasn't impressed by the world-building. I was constantly wondering why a working city was as poorly lit as a busted Rapture. And the save system was awful.

It did it's own thing pretty well, and there's not really much other games could take from it that they haven't already been using.

That said, I did love the game.

TC, the thing is, on the whole, Nintendo games are more like deep theme park attractions than serious narrative adventures. They are about the joy of engaging with an interactive environment more so than plot twists and "caring" about the characters or story in the dramatic sense. That emphasis on non-narrative interaction the reason why Nintendo games are so replayable, year after year. Games like Bioshock do not age as well and you can only play it so long before the "shock value" of the story wears off. 10 years from now, do you think people who own Bioshock Infinite today will replay it as much as.. say.. Super Mario Galaxy? Super Mario Galaxy's story and setting don't make sense at all.... because... frankly... they don't have to.

I haven't played Bioshock Infinite, but I've played Bioshock and I know that development team tells one hell of a narrative. I'm a "gameplay first, narrative second" type of guy, but Bioshock was one of the only games to ever really be an exception to that rule because of how atmospheric and detailed it was (Chrono Trigger was the other exception). The voice acting was also the best of any game I've ever played in my life. Honestly, I'm aware of nobody who is really is on that level of videogame story telling.

That being said, Nintendo can also tell an amazing story in their games, it's just uncommon for them, and it's not their talent. Kid Icarus Uprising was their most story driven action game. The voice acting was fantastic and humorous, and there were even plot twists and truly cinematic moments. I would argue that the story telling in that game was the best of any Nintendo game, but certainly beneath the level of Bioshock.

Anyway, I'm now going to have to check out Bioshock Infinite for myself.

the charismatic Comstock.

This post will probably get lost in this big topic, but oh well.

Personally, I felt Comstock was a bad character.
beatgamespoilers
He IS charismatic because people idolize him and his wife, but we never actually see much of this charisma. It just seems like religious spew. In his voxophones it's just religious ranting or racism, and the tiny amount of actual screentime he gets doesn't make a very good or heavy impression, unlike say, Andrew Ryan or Sander Cohen (sp). It's odd how he was able to make Columbia, odd how he got so many people to follow him, weird how he invited Erizabessu to the room and let Booker inside and just yammered, etc. etc.

Also, facepalm at people thinking B:I isn't a $60 experience, what ignorance. The gameplay was amazing, the VA was great, the story was great, and I never experienced a single bug [Well, if you count a weird expression on Erizabessu once]. There were minor story-gameplay gaps in the game that are simply slight annoyances, due to the many drafts they had, but otherwise it was sparklin'.

Just look at the credits (You should be able to youtube this without getting spoiled). There is so much that went into this game.
