Will a Wii U from Canada work with American games?

I know the console has regional lockouts, I just want to make sure if it will work or not.

Uh, yes. America and Canada get something called "NTSC U/C" which means we get the exact same versions as the other country gets.

i really fail to see how this is a joke topic...

usually a joke has to attempt to poke fun at something or actually try to be funny. this is neither this looks like a question if you ask me.

I'm not joking, my sister's boyfriend lives in Canada and we live in the United States and he's giving her a free Wii U. I'm making sure if it will work with American games or not.

If it is NTSC label North America, Latin America and Canada it should all be the same region.

I imagine the only difference is that Canadian releases will have mandatory French paperwork. All games and consoles (pretty much ever) are physically identical.

The United States and Canada are both apart of North AMERICA.

Yes if you bought it from Canada or the States, games from either will work together and be essentially the same.Only difference being the presence of French opposed to just English and/or Spanish.
