50 years from now, what do you think the game industry will be like?

Do you think the industry will still exist? Will Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft still be in business? Will iconic game franchises die out? Will consoles still use discs? etc.
Video games are awesome.

Miyamoto will still be making games, and nobody will know how.

Some companies will be alive like Nintendo and Microsoft. There probably won't be disks, but there will still be some type of physical media. Game consoles become more and more innovative. The Xbox 3240 can make toast.

All these mega 3rd party company's that everyone's grown accustomed to will be replaced by the indies that Nintendo is once again taking the helm to nurture into something bigger.

Can't make an educated prediction about 50 years from now much less 5 years from now. The video game industry isn't even 50 years old.

50 years from now huh? I think PC Gaming will be convenient enough at that point (Average Joe would be able to hook PC to his TV easily) and Phone Gaming will be Popular enough for those to be the only forms of Gaming. Phone gaming will start having Quality Control, Competition will come from Nintendo, Sony, Apple, Microsoft, etc making Phones. PC Competition will come from companies trying to make the better, more affordable parts.

Dead, if it keeps going the way it is. The marriage of PC gaming and console gaming is killing both, slowly but surely.

Nintendo will likely still be around, but might not be making games. (The company is well over a hundred years old, so I don't see it crashing anytime soon.)

I hope i'm alive to see what its like...

I doubt hardware will exist as we know it now. TV's will contain all the hardware we need to play games that run a universal OS. Only software companies will exist.

To be honest, no. The worlds governments will most likely do something to illegalize it
