Nintendo shouldn't stop being kiddy

Think about this, if nobody made games for little children anymore, then in time, people who would have grown playing videogames and eventually move on to different games wouldn't do so. So gaming would eventually die with the older generations.

The industry needs someone who makes "kiddy" games, though a more acceptable term would be 'entry-level games'. This is also the reason the Wii didn't need to compete directly with the 360 or the PS3, it's biggest rivals are the iOS and Android systems, because those have been taking chunks from the entry-level gamer market as of late.

BTW I'm studying marketing, so I know what I'm talking about.

Agreed. In fact they will fail badly if they stop being kiddy since thats what pretty much everyone buys their stuff for. They specialise in kiddy games that don't appeal to real gamers and they should stick with that since they won't be getting many third party games this gen.

Man at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Iwata committed sudoku on himself

It's too late. They would have no audience at all and go from a slow dive to a tail spin.

Agreed. It's really hard to sort through any other console makers library for family friendly gaming. But with Nintendo's stuff, it's a piece of cake!

And I appreciate that.

Nintendo isn't "kiddy". They market to everyone. If you'd study marketing like you said you'd see that. Also "Kiddy" is just a term made up by "HARDCORE GAMERZZZ" to try and make themselves feel superior to others.

Why challenge the TC?

The TC did say that they thought a more appropriate term was "entry-level" instead of kiddy. It seemed as if you attacked the TC for using the term "kiddy" And attacked their credibility. Gee whiz.

Because the TC's claim doesn't match with reality. The claim needs to be called out. And if he really thought "entry level" was more appropriate a term why did he specifically choose "kiddy" in the title. I'm not personally attacking the TC. But he is making stuff up and trying to validate it with a claim that doesn't make sense. That kind of stuff should be called out.
