Add the Nintendo DS to this.

Probably Not. Certainly not with the way Nintendo has began shifting the industry into a "casual gamers first" kind of thing.

The DS is a distant third to the PS2 and SNES. It has a lot of great games but they simply can't compare to the top tier PS2 and SNES games.

Well those 2 systems are often referred to as Nintendo's and Sony's best, which I agree with. I seriously doubt Nintendo will ever put out another system with the amount of great, original games that the SNES had.

That was back in a time when they still had very strong 3rd party support which died after the N64. Plus the fact that games in general take longer to make now due to the graphics. Ive felt for a long time the glory days of home videogame consoles are behind us now. Everything is going mobile now which is changing things.

SNES was the greatest system ever made imo and PS2 clearly was te best choice as far as a massive library.

Nup with the selling us near unplayable games and fixing them later with patches, day one disk cut dlc and sequel after sequel, it will probably never be the same again.
