who does the license agreements get bought up buy and who will take over series that stil might have a small bit of worth like the sims

but it is fun to watch karma punish EA

they kiss microsofts ass and now they are laying people off shutting down offices getting booed by gamers and their stock is plummeting

I know how about Lucasarts? Oh wait.

I'd like to think the vacuum would be filled by plenty of smaller publishers and Indie developers.

More likely, though, Activision would just take over as the next festering boil on the nose of game publishing.

But in reality, EA is not going anywhere and is only going to become a worse company for their desperation.

Maybe go MS exclusive to save themselves first. Always attach to bigger fish.

a AAA dev like EA can't develop exclusively for 1 platform. they can already hardly justify their dev costs as is. without sales across 3-4 different platforms, it'll be impossible for them to turn a profit

Honestly just depends what MS is willing to pay for exclusivity rights. I'm not saying they wrote the cheque or anything but I really think a company like MS has the power to act monopolistic.

They are getting rid of staff to focus on mobile and next Gen. Since they don't consider Wii U next Gen, expect lots of PS4 and NextBox games that will cost a lot to develop and won't sell much due to lack of install base.
