This board seems to be most excited for a re-release of an 18 year old game.

Well, considering how the only good games to be released this year is Injustice, we need SOMETHING to be excited for.

What have we had so far? We had another PAAG title, in the yawnfest that is Bioshock Infinite. We had the okay, but not amazing Tomb Raider, and the laughably bad Colonial Marines. That's all the high-profile stuff I can think of, and all of it ranges from simply ¨good¨ (Tomb Raider), to mediocre (CM), or just plain horrendous (Bioshock), so of course we need something to get excited over.

All the PS3 and 360 fans should be excited too, this is the second great game to be released on a console in 2013. Maybe if we're lucky, and Square decides to stop punishing us for buying all that FF7 related tripe, and the god awful animu they own the rights to, they'll make Versus XIII NOT suck, and release it before December. But my expectations for that, are lower than the Vita's sales.

I probably shouldn't bite, but what's so bad about BI?

Well, first off, first-person camera = instantly bad. If your game is in first person, you have to pull a hat out of a rabbit in order to make it remotely good. System Shock and the first Bioshock managed to do just that. They had great story, an some of the creepiest atmosphere ever seen in a game at the time. I actually would have liked Metroid Prime to have taken a cue or eight from System Shock 2.

Bioshock Infinite is just awful.
Story telling is okay, at best.
The ending is sort of bland.
The atmosphere from the first Bioshock is pretty much nonexistent.
I expected better from the game almost the entire gaming community was hyping up to be the video game equivalent of Ali vs. Foreman.

And this series is supposed to be the spiritual successor to the legendary System Shock? Humbug, I say!
Two bad games in a row, I say that the dev team should rethink what made Bio1 so great.

If you think that first person shooters are bad in general, why do you play them?

How do your specific complaints make a game horrible? You aren't even saying they are particularly bad, just not good.

Also, FYI, Bio2 had a different dev team.

If something isn't good, that means it's bad. Yes, it really is THAT black and white.
I don't THINK PAAG games are bad, I KNOW they are bad.
Once in a while, you get legitimately good ones, like Bioshock, or Perfect Dark, but then you get trash like Duke Nukem Forever, or XCom, or even Halo.

I play them, because unlike you, I'm not some close-minded person. I give almost anything a chance.

So if there aren't degrees of quality between good and bad, wouldn't that mean that all the games you listed are just as bad and there was really no point in complaining about a specific one other than trying to get a rise out of people?

Also, how do you know whether or not I'm close-minded from only asking you a handful of questions?

To be quite frank. I'm waiting for FExSMT.

Earthbound is one Nintendo made series that I just can't give any craps about.

I see the Nintendrones are out in full force tonight. Please refute my points, instead of making personal insults at me. What's wrong about what I'm saying? I'm making a valid argument on why I think the PS3 is a better system. If you think you can correct me, go right ahead, but dismissing my argument as ridiculous proves nothing.

So....you have an awesome PS3 that is way awesomer than any nintendo product but yet, you are here on a WiiU board begging people to show you the error of your ways? Why you mad bro? Go play your PS3. I certainly will be going home to play mine when I get off of work and I will not be on the other console forums talking trash? Oh, and differences of opinion can not be refuted....

I love Earthbound, it's zany and funny and it is the first time I have been given a chance at replaying this game without spending hundreds of dollars. It was released on Gba, which we never got, so when this news came out. This was the best Nintendo Direct as it had a lot of great games announced. A lot of people are happy, because they wanted this game and it finally is being released. I feel sorry for anyone who can't understand the excitement of people who love games, especially a game like Earthbound.
It's one of the few old games that exactly like in Japan (aka a lot of used games are expensive) and that is the reason they have VC in the first place. People want these games and this gives them the ability to buy them legally.

Thanks to my dislike of Final Fantasy XIII, I looked back on ALL Final Fantasy games and now which one I like for what reason. Angry blame XIII.

I do kind of see the point. Everyone is excited about a game released so many years ago but ignoring that there really are no decent exclusives on the schedule for the wiiu that are new titles until august with pikmin 3.

I don't care what games you get excited for but I will say one thing. Nintendo won't sell many wiiu systems just by releasing 20 year old titles again.

The one good thing about these blatant troll topics is that topics like this inevitably draw out people who belong on my ignore list. That really shouldn't be necessary, but the mods are refusing to do their jobs.

What is it about Earthbound that you people find enjoyable. It has a horrible interface, lame menu's, boring and ugly design and battle.. I cant say much about the story since I didnt play past a few battles and just couldnt enjoy or play it..ever.

I wish we could mod the mods, so they could do their f****** jobs for once in their meaningless lives. The amount of modding this site needs to stabilize is pitiful.

Troll logic: "If complaining about it will make people react, then it's worth complaining about."

More like "I don't like the attention EarthBound's getting. Let me make a topic about it, thus giving it more attention.

Brilliant logic.
