the vita is ailing, but at the very least games do sell on there, even ports like NFS most wanted and sub port like COD declassified and ACL sells a ton, even niche games sells like hotcakes. Yet for some reason, games just dont sell on the wii U, COD black ops 2 didnt sell well, NFS most wanted sold less than 10k and lego city sold 100k. the only games that sold well is NSMBU. we got alot of people asking for ports in this board, yet when the port comes it sold abysmally. so why do you think this is? why wont the games sell?

I wonder if digital games are counted? I buy most of my games digitally.

Given the number of consoles sold, a lot of those games sold about as well as expected. CoD, for example, had an adoption rate just short of that of the 360 and PS3; I think about 8% of Wii U owners bought CoD, compared to 10-11% of 360/PS3 owners. When Activision said they expected it to sell much better, they were expecting it to completely ignore the trends on the other consoles. Couple this with the fact that most people that really wanted it would have bought it when it came out on 360/PS3 rather than wait for the Wii U version, you could say that it actually sold pretty well given the circumstances.

In short, they're selling okay. When more consoles are sold, they'll sell better.

Yeah, that's a problem games had back then. You actually had to get good at them. - Mctias

Over the last decade Nintendo has made it a point to sell people on their own "unique" sort of gaming usually with lesser hardware. The best experiences for the type of software you listed cannot be found on aging Nintendo hardware. That and the people who like those types of games play them on PS3/360/PC.

People buying them for another system combined with no real blockbuster exclusives. Pretty simple. Lego City is good if you like Lego games, but its no blockbuster, so 100k with the smallish current Wii U install base is actually pretty good.

raw percentage dont work since a huge number of those PS3 and 360 are people who bought it a 2nd or 3rd time, whereas wii U's number are mostly first timers. and you're taking just COD's numbers, what about NFS? less than 10k is definitely not what i would call good.

I don't think we can call people who bought Blops2 on WiiU first timers too the series. COD3, W@W, MW1 and Blops all had a release on the Wii.

The thing is I can hardly imagine ports and non-exclusive 3rd party franchises selling well on any new system. I'm a Nintendo fan, but given the choice of buying a new console with games I can buy on a system I already own... doesn't sound appealing.

Besides I thought LC:U and MHU3 did fairly well for 3rd party exclusives. Especially when this Lego game doesn't have the selling factor of Star Wars/LOTR and this MH has been released for the 3rd time on a Nintendo system.

Wait till the holidays too compare the sales. I think it is just too early.

I don't support EA, Activision, or Ubisoft. Period. They treat PC gamers like ass with all the DRM and bull**** they try to place inside their games. I don't want to support those business practices so I refuse to buy any video game from any of those publishers.

Lego games don't interest me either.

First game I bought since launch was Monster Hunter. The next game I'm planning to buy is Pikmin 3.
