The first update is coming next week but what about the second?

I remember in the January Nintendo Direct, they talked about the two Wii U system updates and for the life of me, I cannot remember what the second update is supposed to do.

Did they ever mention what it was supposed to do or am I just confusing reality with dreams again (I know that has happened to somebody other than me. At least I tell myself that).

I was curious as to what the second update would do too. Since the update next week already completely decimates the loading times and adds a bunch of other little things. The update will probably be released sometime late July or early August.

Need to pass the time until then? why not try the Wii U browser optimized SugarDVD site?

I thought the second one was going to be Virtual console but it sounds like it's all coming with this weeks update.
I can't imagine what else needs to be added.

I remember hearing that the 2nd update further improves system load times, but while I'm sure it will do more, I don't know what else it will do.

They never said what the second update will do. They listed things that they planned to fix, and then said they'll have "two updates" for it. So, I guess... Further reduced loading times? I dunno.

Uh oh, that means it's time to let speculation run rampant. RAMPANT I SAY!!!!

So in the faith of rampant speculation-ism I hereby confirm the second update will implement a unified account system across the Wii U and 3DS. And it will destroy the horrible tasting 'Chicken and Waffles' flavor Lays chips.

Didn't they say the second update would be coming out in the Summer of this year? I remember them saying something about a Spring Update and Summer Update
Failure to complete a challenge sets up for the next attempt.
Never taking that attempt is the REAL failure.

Yeah the 2nd update is meant to "Further improve OS speed".
As for what else, I'm REALLY hoping for a universal achievement system, hopefully sooner than later, without that, I'm sorry to say I cant really see it as fully stepping out of a current gen system.

Other than that, I think they should add a messaging system, (I hear miiverse allows this, but not good enough if true), and to make it near instant, and to get notifications immeadiately. I would have liked this 3DS, as much as I love letterbox inspiring me to draw, theres no notifications and it still takes some time to recieve the messages, maybe if Wii U did something like letterbox, they should just implement into the friends list section and you can send messages in the middle of a game and what not.

The next big thing is game invites, I dont think thats a feature it has either, which is pretty sad, seeing even the vita can do it, and this is called a next gen console. Nintendo make a lot of money, I dont see an excuse.

Other than that, the next things I'd like are just things I'd like to be on it, but not sure if possible, things such as faster download speeds on eshop and to use partitioned HDD on Wii U
