No. Nintendo is only screwed if millions of people suddenly stop loving Zelda, Mario, Smash Brothers, etc.

Microsoft won't launch that low even if the console is subsidized. They are leaving money on the table if they do. Sony simply can't afford to do so.

Probably not because N's business model isn't as dependent on online as its competition. People just have to do a little math to see that the fees don't make the console any less expensive.

And what happens when people stop payments? Do they have to return the console?

I wouldn't be surprised if MS threw in their consoles for free with a year subscription to XBL, Dreamcast-style.

I'm expecting Dual Shock 3 to be around $70 each.

That won't happen bud, Sony and MS are in business to make money, and releasing $199 consoles, even WITH a subscription, would be suicide. the cheapest you would see either launch with a sub would be around $300, and by then, Nintendo will do what alot have been saying, they'll have a price cut. Then it'll all depend on the games, and their prices/restrictions.

Well, there is the rumor of MS's console always being online, so if they went subscription-based, and you didn't make a payment, the console could check that info, and simply not work if that's the case.

Never say never. Keep in mind that XBL's infrastructure is already in place and they'd be able to charge licensing fees out the *** if it takes off.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
