Which ripped off the NES/SNES/N64/PS/etc.

When you are the creator of the modern controller you can't really be accused of ripping controller designs off.

Except this is a blatant rip off of a current controller design.

Just think of it as an improvement, DAT DPAD.

Pretty much it is a rip off of the 360 one, here's some photographical evidence below before the whole pics or gtfo saying goes...

I don't see MS filing a patent suit so they must not be bothered. Nintendo took the same basic design and improved it. A large portion of gamers find the shape of the 360 controller to be most comfortable.

Nintendo took that shape, made it lighter, longer battery life, and installed a better dpad.

It seems to me like a GCN controller redesign. Oh, wait: controllers with two analog sticks and some face buttons are so ubiquitous, it can't be a ripoff.

For those of you starting topics about the PS4, there's a PS4 board:

Around November there was a rumor that the only reason why we got the pro controller so early was that Activision refused to publish Blops II on the Wii U unless the pro controller came out at launch also.

Just a rumor, but it supports the idea that NSMBU and Nintendo Land don't support the controller. Nintendo didn't plan on incorporating it until later.

The Gamecube controller had the same basic shape, if it had some plastic in the middle. And if we wanted to get really technical, the Wii U is smaller and differently shaped around the edges.

But once again, you can't call the original for ripping off designs because they are pretty much using variants of their own designs.

So copying the foundation of a near perfect controller is a bad thing?
Tell me, do you prefer to go backwards?

We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution. You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it.

You can say the same about the Xbox Controller S with the Dreamcast, it doesn't matter if you think it's a "blatant rip off" or whatever. The original PS1 controller is a ripoff of the SNES controller, but nobody complains about that.
The 360's controller just feels cheaply made, which I am sure it is, and it's pretty much useless for fighters or any game that requires pressing those face buttons for an extended period of time.

Don't forget it has an 80 hour battery life, and it is both light and sturdy at the same time.

Errr... apparently this doesn't matter because everyone should be playing next to a power socket and putting it back on charge.

It didn't rip them off, there are some basics of the video game controller that they all need to share to play modern games. It's the design and shape which is a rip off, the mould, it looks and feels identical to a 360 controller.
