They just said what they're doing. They're releasing Pikmin 3 this summer and plan to release a steadier stream of games going forth from that. It was pretty clear, and I'm not sure what else you want in that regard.

so one game, and the umpteenth broken promise eh?

And your umpteenth ***** about it.

I dont want to bring up the obvious but...

what momentum?

The Wii U had some reasonable amount of momentum leading up to Christmas. It was launch momentum and it was always going to slow down, but the extent to which it has slowed down has been surprising. The Wii, in January 2007, sold more in North America than the Wii U sold in January, February, and March, combined, worldwide.

I have no interest in that series, nore do I want Mario Kart. I am pretty much stuffed this year then.

You bought the system with the notion that games that were not announced or had a release date would be available right away?

I am sorry you didn't do enough research on your purchase and are now going through some kind of buyers remorse. I hope your suffering does not last long and you die a warriors death!

What games are you interested in?

So your pretty much saying that WiiU isn't worth buying because I shouldn't assume the game system would get some decent games within a year of release?

Adventure, platformers and all sorts.

It clearly wasn't worth buying for you, worth being a completely subjective concept. And no, you definitely should not assume that there will be games you are interested in. ESPECIALLY during the first year of a consoles life.

I went into it knowing I'd only get a handful of titles this year, ones that were announced, and having a reasonable assumption that they'd be games I'd enjoy. And it was worth it for me.

Chalk it up as a lessen learned. Always do your research before a big purchase and only buy it if you have reason to believe that it will be worth the price you pay for it either right now, or if scarcity would be an issue, in the near future based on facts at hand, or if the monetary value won't decrease too much.

The man sees the problem is aware of it and starting in August apparently it will be resolved.

A few observations

1) Iwata admits something that fanboys still refuse to admit, in his PC way of saying Wii U is selling bad.

2) A big problem was naming the thing Wii U.

Iwata is an idiot. So they decided to make another Wii, call it a Wii, have it still use all the same Wii controllers, but they dont understand why people think this is another Wii? He needs to find something else to do for a living.

If you wanted your next console to stand out, um, dunno, maybe you should have created something new and original? Not just rehash the Wii again?

This company is in complete safe sequel mode now. Im almost certain they must be working on another NSMB game (oh wait, they kinda are =/), and it extends across to their consoles. The Wii was fun for non-gamers, but it was time to come up with something new. Putting a little more powerful hardware in a wii and attaching a tablet controller to it wasnt enough. It should have been something entirely new and not called a Wii. Things would have been different.

well to be kinda fair the wiiu isn't that big of an improvement over the original and still uses the same controllers. they need to actually sell the pad and make games that exclusively use said pad.

even then things aren't going to improve much since they relied on the casual market which we all know is fickle. they need strong 1 and 3rd party support this year if things are ever going to improve and currently thats not happening.

I think it is less the name and more the lack of games. Guess we will see if this is the case over the next several months

August is more autumn than summer I'd say.

June 21: First Day of Summer. September 22: First Day of Autumn. August 4 is 44 days into summer, out of 93. Sounds like summer to me. Less than halfway through.

If Nintendoland wasn't the Wii Sports of the U, then nothing will be. That game was a blast and showed off all the features of the new system.
