So no 16:9 for VC titles, eh?

Didn't the regular old Wii do this?

(and yes, I'm Canadian)

Wow, first they charge an outrageous amount of money for VC games (If I want SMB, Metroid, Zelda, and Punch-Out, it's going to cost 20 dollars for a few old grandpa games?) then they don't even bother to change the aspect ratio? Nintendo is flat-out insanely greedy. Then they look at other consoles and are glad Nintendo doesn't nickel and dime them. LOL. At least DLC is new content.

You understand nothing about aspect ratio, do you? If they put the VC in 16:9, they would have to zoom in to fill the screen (meaning that you would not see everything that's on the 4:3 screen) or they would have to stretch the screen horizontally (meaning it would look distorted as hell).

The games were stretched on the Wii Virtual Console and they looked awful. This is a huge improvement.
#7KaiRyusakiPosted 4/27/2013 7:04:15 AM
Who wants old games stretched? Wasnt that a PROBLEM on the Wii versions?
#8gotsporkPosted 4/27/2013 7:08:05 AM
yeah, I had to force my tv into 4:3 mode to make nes games not look like a bunch of fat guys running around.
