Are Sega games generally better than Nintendo games?

Sonic 2006.

Truthfully, I'd rather play that than stuff like Nintendogs or Wii Music.

Sega games have, on average, more blast processing than Nintendo games. Not to mention the amazing Sega 32X, which trumps all.

I dunno...I think you forgot about Virtual Boy.

SMW >>>> Entire Sonic trilogy

objectively wrong

Except Sonic 1 was bland, with piss poor level design.

Sonic 2 was better, with good level design, bogged down by the game's glaring flaw, you might remember him, his name is Krilli... I er... mean, Tails.

Sonic 3 was much better than S2, Tails was smarter, knew when NOT to steal my platforms, and didn't get in the way as often. Also, having the second player play as him, and then sending the little bastard off to temporary purgatory is really fun.

Needless to say, SMW had it all. Level design, controls, no annoying second character, didn't appeal to furries, and was just overall better. Mind you, Sonic 3 and Knuckles is just as good.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the third game people are talking about when they talk about the original trilogy. How appealing it is to furries is irrelevant as long as its appeal is universal. And no one really thought Tails was all that annoying back then, partly because you could turn him off from as early on as his debut.

Depending on who you ask, Sonic 1 had the best level design of the series. Again, this is depending on who you ask. It's not something I personally agree with and I greatly prefer the level design of Sonic 2 to Sonic 1 and often even to S3K. They all offer something very different from the level design in the Mario games though. To try and objectively say one is better than the other is just kind of weird.

IMO all of the Sonic games independently beat SMW in terms of boss design. The average level in each of them was more fun to play than the average level in SMW, and overall what you got out of each of them over SMW was a more condensed platforming game. There isn't nearly as much total content, but the amount going in the same length of time was generally a lot more than what you got out of SMW. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing depends on the tastes of the individual playing, but it's hard to point to any given level from SMW and say "Oh, that level was better than Chemical Plant Zone."
In fact, it's hard to even call out most SMW levels by name.

God Chemical Plant Zone... The music alone makes it down right outstanding.

I wish Blastoise was my dad. He wouldn't beat my mom like what her boyfriend, Johnny does. If Blastoise was my dad things would be different around here.

That's actually a really good point.

Heh heh heh...NO!

On Nintendo's worst day they haven't made anything close to the abomination that is Sonic 2006.
