I like how it takes 3 hours to download and install a 700 MB system update.

It's much slower than the 360's download speed but I've never experienced something that slow. The update didn't take more than 30 min for me. 1 gb game took around 20 min.

Yeah, downloading updates for PS3 really sucks.

That's what you were talking about, right TC? Because Wii U's updates don't take that long.

3 hours? It only took me 45 min for both updates. Maybe you had a poor connection?

Well, I finally decided to dust off the Wii U and update to 3.0. I don't really know why. It's going to be turned off until the end of the year anyways.

Why do you own a Wii U if you are leaving it turned off for 7 months or more?

Because I'm dumb and I thought it would be a good idea to hop on that $244 Wii U Costco deal even though the system has no ****ing games until this fall.

I've already beat NSMBU, ZombiU, and Lego City Undercover.

The system now gets to collect dust until Nintendo actually releases some games for it.

Nope. Wanna know the nice thing about the PS3? You can download the updates outside of the console from much faster servers and update via USB or something.

Besides, lol @ any scrub who uses Sony's official updates instead of custom firmware.

I haven't tried downloading this new update yet, but the first update took me countless hours to download on my 28 megabit cable connection. I generally don't get good download speeds on any of my consoles, but the Wii U's download speed is the worst I've had to deal with yet. It's a cool system, but I have no idea why the updates take so long to download. I hope this new update doesn't take 3 hours...

I recall the first update took a while to finish, like a good 30 - 45 minutes. This newest one? Definitely better, took more like 20 minutes I recall, originally the estimated time was 2 hours, but I knew once the full speed of what I have (Verizon FiOS) kicked in, I was good to go. Speeds overall seem to have improved on my Wii U considerably. What took upwards of 30 seconds to load is down to less than 10.
