What?! NO IT IS NOT!

I love all of them but, IMO, Kirby 64 is the lowest in the group.

Of the ones I've played, probably Return to Dream Land.

What others have you played?

Epic Yarn was pretty bad (as a Kirby game).

Alundra is the best top-down Zelda game since Link to the Past.
Darksiders is the best 3D Zelda game since Ocarina of Time.

Out of the ones I beat, I would have to say Dreamland 3...I just found it rather boring and mind numbing.

While [Avalanche] may be the worst of the three Puyo Puyo 2/Tsuu options available (Tsuu > Dr. Robotnik > Kirby), it was still playable and IIRC was the only one offered on SNES.

Avalanche and Mean Bean Machine are actually both reskinned versions of Puyo Puyo 1. Puyo Puyo 1 generally sucks because it has no offsetting, which was introduced in Puyo Puyo Tsuu.

Anyway, the worst game is undeniably Squeak Squad. It just feels tired, lazy, and played out. There's absolutely nothing compelling about it at all.

You know whats baffling?

64 has a rabid fanbase, yet Dream Land 3 does not.

Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

looking back at this topic, i think people can't decide whether it's bad games overall or bad games using the Kirby formula.

64 is definitely overrated.

BUT.

Squeak Squad is the laziest Kirby game ever.
Pathetically short, 95% recycled music, you have to unlock certain attacks from abilities that in, say, Super Star (a better DS/SNES game) you wouldhave from default.

Power mixing did nothing. New abilities, save for MAYBE Animal were terrible or redundant (Metal)

Then again 64 pretty much ripped 90% of it's content from Dream Land 3.

Every single thing this guy said.

Squeak Squad was, in theory, a nice way to return to Kirby's roots after the radically different Canvas Curse (which is a phenomenal game, hell it was the first great DS game). But it played like a bare-bones Kirby game with boring stages, boring villains, and a useless power mixing feature that was much better used as an inventory. And it was short as hell.

And yeah, Kirby 64 has aged really poorly, but it's not awful. Though Return to Dream Land beats the crap out of it.

EDIT: Forgot about Dream Land 3. Would've been a lot better staying on Game Boy like its predecessors, especially after Super Star set the bar so high.
