What's your sound set up for gaming?

I've got a Pioneer VSX-522-K and Polk 6750 speakers. I've been happy with this 5.1 system, but I've been curious as to how upgrading could improve my gaming experience. I've been looking into a set of Polk RTI A5s for my front speakers, a CSI A6 for my center, and RTI A3s for my surrounds. Maybe a new sub woofer too. Definitely not all at once, and I don't know what order I'd upgrade them in, but I think it would be nice.

Anyway, I'd like to hear what you guys have!

I don't really have a need for any sound system setup, besides the default one, since I have roommates and prefer to be respectful of them, instead of blaring my favorite game's sound effects.

Paradigm speakers and a Denon receiver. It's a 5.1 set up. It's the only audio that I use for my TV, as I deactivated my TV's speakers immediately upon turning said TV on for the first time. No reason to ever use the TV's speakers when I have the surround set up.

Currently playing: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U) / Pandora's Tower (Wii)

Those polks would be a big upgrade over what you have. I would also look at boston acoustics a series speakers. They're a little better than the polks you want and have a similar price point. I'd highly recommend you switch to a denon receiver for the audissey room correction software alone. The sub is where you really shouldn't skimp. I'd advise looking into so smaller companies that make nice subs for cheaper than big names. Svs would be where I'd look first. Speakers can be had cheap, but the sub is going to cost quite a bit for quality.

I've got an old Sony 5.1 surround sound system. It only works with optical... which is fine for PS3 and I managed to rig up a little iffy workaround to use it with the 360 in spite of doing video through HDMI, but there are no such options for the Wii or Wii U unfortunately, so for them I'm stuck with really lame TV speakers.
