lol at the "Well, we didn't want them anyways!" posts.

Jesus. Stop acting like less support for a console from ANY publisher, let alone one of the BIGGEST publishers, is a good thing.

This. Being happy that 15 games aren't on a console is one of the strangest things I've ever heard. At most, I can see someone being indifferent because they weren't looking forward to those games. But over 1/2 weren't even listed and people still manage to be glad that they aren't coming out for Wii U.

*Shrugs*

Pfft, if Wii U starts to take off and PS4 struggles out of the gate, either Wii U will mysteriously suddenly start running Frostbite 3 really well or those games will get ported to other engines.

No company loves selling out more than EA.

"FB3 has never been running on WiiU. We did some tests with not too promising results with FB2 & chose not to go down that path,"

All that means is that they don't want to take time to make a decent port to all consoles. I've read countless articles that Nintendo isn't the easiest platform to write for, but devs have complained about every other console about different aspects at different times.

Supply and Demand.

Nintendo's flagship products have never been 3rd party titles. People are going to buy Nintendo consoles for their franchise exclusives, already. Nintendo could have made easy 3rd party development a selling point, but again... not a priority.

Now, if all of a sudden they start cranking out garbage series entries of their beloved franchises, or even worse - none at all, then I can see the next Nintendo Console being more multiplatform friendly.

Or it could mean that it's not technically possible. I'm not slamming the Wii-U, but certain engines have certain bare-minimum technical requirements that must be met for them to run on certain hardware, and working around the lack of certain hardware features/performance might mean a large/total engine re-write to support a platform. They have to look at the cost/effort involved vs. customer base for a product. That's the reason Doom 3 wasn't on the PS2/Gamecube - they lacked pixel/vertex shaders - a hardware feature that was capitalized on/required by the engine.

With enough money and time (and time is basically just money), almost anything is possible.

Besides, if Wii U can't run FB3, then that means PS3 and 360 can't either, and for the next few years, that's where the money is going to be. As soon as it becomes clear that you can't magically make 50 million in profits off devices that have only a few million consoles sold, they'll start looking for a way to backport their engine to the current generation and Wii U.

Less install base, even less future 3rd party support. People acting like it's nothing because it doesn't affect you with those games are clueless. Now lets wait around until the next Nintendo exclusive rolls around, yay.

Who cares, who wants a stupid engine named "Frostbite" anyway? Hurr yeah we're so smart guys, lets name our engine after a crappy medical condition. Nintendo doesn't have stupid names for its engines, and I think the Wii U should stick to respectable engines.

Nintendo is so behind the times, the only engine they use is the steam engine! Hey ohh!

I'll be here all week, tip your waitresses.
