Your reaction: Wii U gets a 150 price cut, GamePad no longer included

The GamePad will now be treated as an add-on accessory. A large amount of games will still use it, but it isn't required.

Pro Controller and Wii Remote will now be the main Wii U controllers.

White Wii U comes with a Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk.

Black Wii U comes with a Wii Remote Plus, Nunchuk and Pro Controller.

GamePads are available separately or as a Wii Play style pack-in with Nintendo Land 2.

Wii U Ambassador program for anyone who has or does buy the Wii U with a GamePad in the box until all stock of them is gone: 10 GBA games for white Wii U owners, 10 GBA and 5 N64 games for black Wii U owners.

"What the hell is this?!" would be my reaction. Everything listed would make the Wii U just plain die.

How is that a price cut? The GamePad would still cost $150

Not required though. Optional extra.

Casuals could play Wii Sports U in HD without buying a GamePad they may not want, but if they do decide to buy a GamePad, they have the option.

It wouldn't be an $150 price cut for one thing, because right now they're of the stance that you're getting a discount by buying both of these things together. Not to mention that you're putting both a Wii U Pro controller and a Wii remote in the "deluxe" bundle in place of it.

The price of a deluxe system right now is $350. If they did exactly what you're describing, the price would drop to $275. MAYBE $250. Not a chance in hell they would sell it for $200. And then on top of all that, they'd sell the Gamepad separately for at least $100.
