Shadow of the Eternals crowd-funding: $75K Day 1, $50K Day 2...

That's a good question.
They've already stated they'd return the money if they decide they can't go through with the project.

If they don't reach their goal, they might decide they have enough to make the game regardless, although perhaps not at the quality or depth they wanted. They'd have to do quite a bit of rethinking if that were the case (reduced number of episodes would seem the most likely) and even then, from the looks of things, they might struggle to make even a third of what they wanted.

If it looks like I'm being kind of sour, I am. But that's mostly because I do actually want (really want) to see this game be made, and this obviously isn't the way to go about getting their funding. Maybe another studio created by former SK employees (not Dyack) will start a spiritual successor.

I thought he said in the IGN interview the crowd funding was for release on other platforms other than PC and Wii U.

I pledged $50 because it would be supporting the Wii U and a publisher that is also supporting the Wii U

I just realized the project isn't even on kickstarter, its own the devs own website. Even more shady than I thought.

This won't reach it's goal. Usually these are pretty frontloaded and from what it started with, it's so far off the mark.

The episodic thing just turns people off even more. Prolly not as much as people hearing Dyack on this project.

If it becomes clear they won't get enough money they simply refund. They're working on opening a kickstarter now (complicated cause you need a US presence for that, either bank account or physical location).
